How to: Put a different header/footer on the odd and even pages.
Solution:
Specify that the document will have a different header/footer on the odd and even pages (by selecting 'Different Odd and Even' check box) and then insert the header/footer.
1) Specify the document that will have a different header/footer on the odd and even pages.
a) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Page Setup...'. (The Page Setup dialog box appears.)
b) Click the 'Layout' tab.
c) Select the 'Different Odd and Even' check box.
d) Click 'OK'.
2) Insert the odd page header/footer.
a) Move the cursor to the first page of the document.
b) Select the 'View' menu and select 'Header and Footer'. (The Odd Page Header and the Header Footer toolbar appears.) (NOTE: If a change is to be made to the check boxes and the check boxes is not displayed, click 'Switch Between the Header and Footer' on the Header and Footer toolbar.)

c) Create the header/footer as normal.
d) Click 'Close' on the 'Header and 'Footer' toolbar.
3) Insert a header/footer for the even pages.
a) Move cursor to the second page of the document. (Even Page Header/Footer will appear.)
b) Create the header/footer as normal.
c) Click 'Close' on the 'Header and Footer' toolbar.
(NOTE: The header or check boxes for one page can be edited from any page by displaying the Header and Footer toolbar and choosing the 'Show Previous' or 'Show Next', until the desired page header appears.)
